Proper diagnosis and treatment is essential

I am Vinod, 39, Bangalore. For the past few months I was struggling with tailbone pain (Coccydynia) which slowly started affecting my normal life. Initially I did not understand how sensitive this issue can become if not treated correctly. I first consulted 3 orthopedic doctors and was mainly given pain killers, vitamin tablets and general advice. Since the pain was not severe in the beginning, I continued travelling, gym workouts, cycling machine exercises and long sitting during trips, thinking it would settle on its own.

Over time the problem became worse and started affecting my daily routine seriously. Sitting in office, car travel, restaurants, theatres and even normal relaxation became mentally stressful. I started depending on cushions everywhere and was constantly worried whether this would become permanent.

Finally I consulted Dr. Syeda Mubashira (PT) at Tailbone Pain Clinic (see Doctors and specialists in India). The biggest difference was that the issue was properly evaluated through sitting and standing coccyx X-rays instead of only routine scans. That helped identify the actual coccyx alignment and posture-related imbalance.

My treatment included:

* Tailbone manipulation

* Core and glute strengthening exercises (shared few images )

* Posture correction

* Needle/electro therapy for muscle relaxation

* Proper coccyx cushion guidance

* Gradual sitting rehabilitation

Initially I expected fast results, but I later understood this condition needs patience and consistent rehab because not only the tailbone, but also the surrounding muscles and sitting mechanics get affected over time.

After around 11 sessions over 3 months that is from March 2026 to May 12th 2026, my coccyx alignment and posture improved significantly in follow-up X-rays. The direct tailbone pain and pressure tenderness reduced a lot. I am now gradually returning to normal sitting and bike riding with continued exercises and recovery work.

One important thing I learned is: Please do not ignore tailbone pain in the early stage and continue stressing it with gym cycling, long sitting or wrong cushions like I did. Early proper treatment and diagnosis can prevent the condition from becoming prolonged and mentally exhausting.

I am sharing my experience because many people silently struggle with this condition and may feel confused or hopeless. With the right approach, proper diagnosis and patience, this condition will definitely improve.
