From feeling hopeless to seeing a light at the end of the tunnel, Dr. Sayeeda has made this possible

I fell down the stairs over 19 months back but didn't have any tailbone pain for 10 months. The pain progressively got worse. The tailbone cushions helped but not much. I tried everything online and saw several physios and chiropractors in Canada. None helped. A specialist tailbone physio I went to tried some internal manipulation but I think it made it worse. They all told me not to do kegels and to concentrate on breathing and relaxing exercising of the muscles. I even got a clinic to do a dynamic sit/stand x-ray but all the reports, including the MRI was normal. I finally got 2 steroid injections, one month apart to reduce the pain. It helped with the pain but it was still not bearable and the irritation in the area was very bad.
The flight to India was unbearable. I couldn't sleep without waking up in pain. In India, I tried marma chikitsa ayurveda treatment but it didn't help at all.
Luckily, my father came across Dr. Sayeeda's information (see Doctors and specialists in India) and the first call with her was very positive. She looked at the imaging and immediately diagnosed a posterior subluxation of the tailbone. I finally had a diagnosis. I flew to Bangalore and took another x-ray and she pointed out how severe the angulation was. The last segment was a hook. Because I have a long tailbone, the last segment didn't show up in the previous x-rays.
I had 6 sessions of internal manipulation and several kegel based strengthening exercises. I needed to do clenching exercises, not relaxation exercises like everyone else prescribed. I went back after a few weeks for follow up sessions. She says that my posterior subluxation is mostly fixed but I have a rightward angulation of the tailbone that hasn't improved much. With good posture and strengthening exercises, it should get better over time.
The flight back to Canada was much more comfortable and the cushion Dr Sayeeda prescribed has been very good for me. I'm about 70% better now. She's helping me fix my upper and lower back problems too, which may be causing some of the tailbone issues.
Wherever you're in the world, book an appointment and see Dr Sayeeda. It's very likely that you will be better off for it.
Note from Jon Miles:
I emailed more than a year after this story was posted, to ask for an update, as the long-term outcome of treatment is of great interest. In this case I did not get a reply.
