Hi my name is Sherry from Virginia. I'm 64 a female and reasonable size. I've been pretty active. I walk regularly and use to cycle weekly for 6 years till this pain forced me to stop. I also had a desk job for 31 years. I believe I injured my tailbone possibly 20 years ago when I fell on concrete stairs on an icy day taking our dog out. I didn't realize it had iced up overnight.
I'm not able to sit without pain. I avoid going more than 30 minutes from home as the car is the worse for pain. I use and take a Comfi Life pad everywhere. I have three of them.
My coccyx pain started in 2023 after doing pelvic floor therapy in hopes of improving not getting up for the bathroom 2-3 times a night. After month or so into therapy I started having pain sitting. They said it would go away. It's 2026 and it hasn't gone away. Two cities, 2 orthopedic doctors, 2 pain management clinics, (steroids shot and Ganglion Impar Block), 3 chiropractors, urogynocologist, and regular OBGYN and no one has helped resolve this. I've had a MRI and recently a CT scan that shows an old fracture and the coccyx is turned anterior.
I'm fearing that a coccyx removal may be my only hope. Any advice and long term success for females is appreciated. Does the surgery cause uterus or bladder prolapse problems after the fact? Did the surgery cause painful scar tissue? I've read numerous testimonial stories on here, but I haven't seen answers to some of my concerns.
Thanks
Sherry in Virginia
