I fell down my stairs at home during COVID in 2020. which made it extremely difficult to be seen or offered any treatment, and especially got no diagnosis. I saw my local osteopath which helped a lot but the chronic coccyx pain did not stop. I was sat on NHS waiting lists for various interventions for about 3 years, and not blaming them but I just felt left and forgotten about.
I self funded my osteopath and physio, tried medication recently which gave me horrendous side affects so stopped that. My chronic coccyx pain has ruined parts of my life, threatened my employment due to several periods of time off work. I have had to miss so many social events and celebrations in the last five years. I've have several periods of time where I could not walk well, and spend so much time laying down to try and reduce pain.
But wanted to give hope to anyone who has been in mine or a similar situation. I continued to see my Osteopath who told me she thought my coccyx could be dislocated and knew a great Dr and a consultant Osteopath in London who can treat me and has expertise in treating the coccyx pain. At this point no medical Dr has been able to diagnose my condition. I contacted Dr Stephen Sandler (see Doctors and specialists in the UK, London), and I self funded this but it was not as expensive as I thought and worth every penny!
I saw Dr Stephen Sandler two weeks ago and after receiving clear information before and when I saw him, he diagnosed a dislocated coccyx. He was able to treat me, and I immediately felt improvement and for the first time in five years felt no pain sitting hoorah!!!
I have received great after care from Dr Stephen Sandler, I've had some after pain and soreness which he reassured me is very normal. So I am now on the road to recovery and just need to allow some time for everything to settle down, and the outcome is I should recover fully and live a full and happy life without misery of pain!
