Pain worse after manual treatment

I was inspired by all the positive reviews of Michael Durtnall (see Doctors and specialists in the UK, London) on coccyx.org and have no doubt that he has helped many people. Unfortunately, I am not one of them. Whilst I found Michael to be very considerate and professional, his 'treatment' has made my condition significantly worse. I had anticipated that it might not help, but not that it would lead to such a considerable deterioration. I am no longer able to sit at all (previously I was able to sit in moderation) and have had to increase the amount of painkillers I take.
I was told at the outset that I would need around 12 treatments; I had 9 in total, hoping that the increase in pain was a temporary blip on the road to recovery. I did let Michael know the pain was getting worse, both verbally and via email. I eventually decided to stop the treatment but was told it could take time to work. Each treatment cost £400, including travel, so came at considerable personal cost (in both money and time).
I don't wish to put people off seeing Michael, but keen that there is a more balanced representation of experiences presented here (as Jon himself also highlights the importance of in supporting information). I wish I had considered the possibility that the treatment might make things worse for me.
