Cliff diving

My story begins on August 29th, 1979. It was my 18th birthday, and I was cliff-diving with friends in the abandoned quarries around my college town in Virginia. Needless to say, we were not supposed to be there.
I took a "dare" to leap off the highest cliff, which was 80 feet. I broke my tailbone, "bent" my spine, cracked my sternum................... and have had severe tailbone pain every since. I had two surgeries, neither of which was successful. I got a bone infection with the second one and almost died.
I have managed to work most of the time, sitting. Usually I have a standing desk too. I never go to movies, or out to dinner. I am usually housebound unless I am working. I have tried every remedy out there at one time or another.
At the moment, I am looking for a new pillow, transportable and small. I have gone off all meds and go to PT and do exercises at home.
I would love a cure, but it seems I am a hopeless case. I am 54 now.
