Pilonidal cyst and separate coccyx pain

I have been suffering from pain at the tip of my coccyx for 2 months so far. It started without any reason since I had not fallen or hit the coccyx. When I went to the doctor, he found out that I have a pilonidal cyst and that I should remove it. However, the pain I am feeling is at the tip of the coccyx and not at the cyst, which is located a few inches above. I am wondering if the coccyx pain could somehow be related to the cyst and if it is gonna stop after removing the cyst.

Has anyone passed through the same situation?
