Tailbone pain relieved

I have had a problem with tailbone pain three times in my life. The first time was in the year 2000. I went to a physical therapist, Richard Kruckeberg, in Mattoon, Illinois, USA (see Doctors and specialists in the USA, New York). He did several sessions with physical therapy but I did not get any relief. He then did manual manipulation twice and my tailbone pain was gone. It was wonderful to be able to sit again.

I had no more problems until the year 2014. I was going to a Spine doctor with some SI joint problems. So she wanted to do an injection in the tailbone. After an injection in the tailbone and one in the SI joint my pain went away only to return with a vengeance in 2015. Again the spine doctor put 2 different injections in my back - one in the tailbone and one in the SI joint. This time I got no relief. After several months of severe pain and being unable to sit, my regular doctor said that I should see Richard Kruckeberg.

Then I remembered how much he helped me back in 2000. So I have been to see him several times and am experiencing a tremendous relief. It is wonderful to be able to sit again. I highly recommend him to anyone experiencing tailbone pain.

I emailed more than a year after this story was posted, to ask for an update, as the long-term outcome of treatment is of great interest. In this case I did not get a reply.
