No remedy for my tailbone

3 years ago my coccyx was broken and subsequently deviated to the left. Since then the pain is generally tolerable but when my uterus engorges at the end of my menstrual cycle the pain is so unbearable I can't bear to be awake. My NP put me on Celebrex which was miraculous! But 4 months later the Celebrex is no longer working and the pain is much worse than it was before. The NP says that surgery would complicate the injury and wouldn't be conducive to pain relief.

As of late, the pain is so bad that I have to sit in really awkward positions and my hips are now really sore along with pain that's now so bad it wakes me up at night. I've always had a very good pain tolerance. No issues with giving birth to an 11 lb. baby with no pain management and very little hurts me to the point that I feel the need to discuss it.

But my tail bone is absolutely unreal. I can't handle any more and I have no idea what to do. Because my husband is active duty military, whatever the nurse practitioner I'm assigned to says, I have to abide by it.

Is there anything in the world I can do? This pain is excruciating and I can't stand the thought of it getting worse as I get older.

Note from Jon Miles: There is more information on coccyx pain around the menstrual period on this site.
