I have been suffering from coccyx pain for 15 months. I don't know what caused it, it just came on. I have had the usual treatments, chiropractor etc but so far nothing has worked. I have an appointment to see a surgeon at the end of this month.
However, for the last 7 months I have been getting severe pain in my shoulders and neck. My doctor has advised that this is muscle spasms which she has advised is as a result of the pain in my coccyx. The pain in my shoulders and neck increases the longer I am sat down to the point where the pain is horrendous.
I have been taking amitriptyline tablets for 5 months but no help at all. I am currently on a 2 week course of Diazepam which have helped but these tablets are addictive and my GP will not let me have a repeat prescription.
I did have acupuncture which helped slightly and I have had deep tissue massages which again have helped slightly but the longer I sit down at work the worse the pain gets.
Has anyone else had problems with pains in shoulders/neck and have they found anything that has helped?
Any advice is appreciated.
Thank you.
