Healing question

Mary Kornegay - Tofuti54@aol.com

My name is Mary Kornegay and I had my surgery 2 months ago in Houston, Texas by Dr. Ronald Lindsey who is a professor at Baylor College of Medicine.

My question is: I have this "weeping" from the incision site. My doctor says he's not concerned, just take sitz baths 3-4 times a day. But I don't understand what this oozing is, is it the skin healing? Is it infection coming from inside me? It is really bothersome and wish it would quit. Has anyone else experienced this?

Note from Jon Miles: I had a similar experience. Surgical wounds sometimes take a while to heal, and they will ooze while they do so. I was worried about infection, too. But I found from the medical papers that the only infection that is serious is a deep one that starts straight after surgery (in that case they have to open you up again). The sitz baths should help to avoid infection, but even if you did get an infection at this stage, it should only be on the surface, and should be easy to treat.
