Jon Miles

(Picture of Jon Miles) I am a retired physicist, previously working at the UK National Radiological Protection Board on the natural radioactive gas radon. See, for example, this report on mapping radon in homes in England and Wales (PDF). I live in Oxfordshire, England.

I own www.coccyx.org and have been running the site for 20 years. I am not a doctor - I am a patient, I developed coccyx pain in 1993 following an accident, and created this website to provide sufferers and medical personnel with accurate information about this condition. You can read my own story of tailbone pain here.

I pay the expenses for the website myself, and take no advertising or sponsorship. See the website policy here.

In 2016 I took part in the First International Symposium on Coccyx Disorders in Paris, France, presenting two papers, A History of Coccydynia (PDF) and Coping with Coccyx Pain (PDF).

In 2018 I took part in the Second International Symposium on Coccyx Disorders in Dordrecht, The Netherlands, presenting a paper, Patient reports of treatment effectiveness (PDF).
