Doctors and specialists are listed here for one of three reasons: they were recommended by a coccyx pain patient; they are the authors of a relevant medical paper; or they suggested their own listing. The reason for listing each one is given. If you would like to recommend a doctor or specialist, please let me know.
If there is no suitable specialist listed who is near to you, you could try to find one by writing to specialists near you.
- Magnus Ericsson, Osteopat D.O, Trollhättans Osteopatklinik. 0736- 60 91 97. Uses gentle techniques to allow muscles to relax. See trollhattansklinik.se and Gentle osteopathic treatment for coccyx pain. Recommended by a patient.
- Dr Tycho Tullberg at Stockholm Spine Center performs coccygectomy. He has done around 20 of them. The waiting list to Stockholm Spine Center is long, but if you believe coccygectomy could be the solution for you it's worth it. See Stefan's story.
- Dr Ulla-Carin Wreje at Ryggakuten in Stockholm performs steroid injections and would be a good first doctor to be referred to from your family doctor. However, you don't need a referral and can contact her directly. Recommended by Stefan.
- Physiotherapist Joakim Heuer in Stockholm performs coccyx manipulations. Recommended by Stefan.
Note: Strängnäs Ryggklinik believe coccygectomy is not a proper treatment and don't do it, so don't bother with them if you think you need surgery.
