I'm a 24 year old female who has recently just started having coccyx (tail bone) pain. I've read dozens of stories here, however mine seems a little different. To my recollection, I have not fallen or injured myself to cause this pain. I've seen several different doctors & taken several x-ray's and CT Scans. Just a week ago I had the steroid injection directly into the bone. That was exactly 7 days ago today. Still no relief. I've been out of work for over a month now.
It seems as if the best option is surgery to remove the bone, however I have Von Willebrand Disease (bleeding disorder) and am worried about going through with it. I am hoping some of you who have already had this surgery could answer a few questions for me:
I am an average size woman. Not skinny, nor over weight. If I haven't fallen and I have not given birth, then how did this happen to me???? Any advice would be great. I'm about to give up. Thanks
