After severely damaging my coccyx during labour in November 2003 I finally got a cortizone shot yesterday. After reading similar stories from other women on your page I am glad I am not alone.
I feel aggrieved that I had to wait so long to be treated - I had seen 4 doctors, had acupuncture, physiotherapy, massage, chakra healing, crystal healing all to no avail.
Now having had an injection yesterday I feel fine. I am so used to sitting down gingerly that I have to make the effort to sit normally!
My advice would be to any mum - don't let it go, keep going back to the doctors, write letters of complaint, keep pushing for treatment. No-one will take you seriously if you don't.
I would be interested to talk to any sufferers who have gone on to have further children, I am terrified of being incapacitated again, and we want at least one more baby.
