Abstract

The purpose of this analysis is to examine to what extent coccygectomy is an appropriate treatment of patients with persistent coccydynia In MEDLINE, there were 24 original studies, in which they had included 702 coccydynia patients who had been treated operatively. 83% of them achieved a favourable outcome. In the studies highlighted coccygectomy was a good treatment for selected patients with therapy-resistant coccydynia
