Coccydynia Hall of Fame

Andréas Klöden

Andréas Klöden, who finished third in the 2006 Tour de France and second in 2004, crashed on the fifth stage of the 2007 Tour and injured his coccyx. He was taken to hospital for a scan, and told that he had a hairline fracture of the coccyx. He had injured his coccyx three years before. Despite his injury, he continued to race in the 2007 Tour.

His team manager said "He had a bad day, and was in a lot of pain. He had a bandage on the sciatic nerve. His right foot is going to sleep. He can't put a lot of pressure on it, and so the pedals."
